September is always the spike, but the interesting detail is how much of it is parents booking ahead rather than reacting to a bad first report. That is a real shift from a few years ago. The coaching side you mention tends to matter more than the subject content by the time students reach sixth form, since most of what holds them back is planning rather than understanding. Good read.
Thirteen years is no small thing, congratulations. The confidence angle is the underrated half of tutoring — a lot of what a good tutor actually fixes is not the knowledge gap but the fear of being put on the spot and having to explain yourself out loud. It is the same muscle people suddenly discover they never trained when they have to stand up and deliver a wedding speech.
Congrats on 13 years! The back-to-school rush seems to start earlier every year.
